SpyApp started with one phone. A friend's "battery optimizer" app — downloaded from a forum link — was silently uploading her messages and location every fifteen minutes. She had no way to know. The store page looked fine, the app worked, the icon was even cute. The spying was invisible unless you opened the APK and looked inside.

Security analysts can look inside. Most people can't, and shouldn't have to. So we built a tool that does the looking for you — for any file, not just apps: upload it, get a verdict a non-technical person can act on.

• Community is a sensor. Signatures catch known threats; thousands of users voting and commenting catch the rest.
• Checking for spyware shouldn't require trust falls. No account, no tracking, no selling uploads. Ever.
